I have noticed certain features in the design of catalogues of pre-war stamps. That is, they were mainly based on political and religious motifs, which limited the choice. If I wanted to send a letter to my family or a loved partner, I did not want to choose these topical motifs.
I analysed and categorised stamps used in the pre-war period and came up with the idea: 'If I were a pre-war stamp designer, I would design a stamp that would convey my feelings depending on the person sending it'.
I found that many traditional patterns and meanings are embedded in pre-war stamps. I used these motifs to come up with new stamp designs.
