How to translate a Bio-Inspired Design structure 'Overlap' into typography?

Client: Bio-Inspired Textiles
Brief:
In this brief, Bio-Inspired Textiles are collaborating with us to develop creative ways of communicating the these structures through typography and moving image.
Concept:
As a representative organism that embodies the structure of the Overlap, we focused our attention on the Pill Bug. During the project, we had to generate different ideas in 2D, 3D and 4D, using different materials, methods and processes. So we created a 3D representation of the pill bug’s structure, which we then incorporated into a 2D typeface and a video.
